Have you ever thought about how many times Jesus interacted with children during His ministry? Quite often we find Jesus healing and helping kids throughout the gospels. What kind of impact could those experiences leave in their lives?

The CBC Joy Singers present I Love to Tell His Story. As we travel back to the 1st Century, we meet some people with fantastic stories of Jesus. But could they be any more than just stories?

Come experience the power of the Resurrection through the kids who met Jesus.

Awana Games 2014!

Sparks-A-Rama. Awana Games. One of the biggest days of the Awana year. Kids from all over central Kansas parade into the gym to the cheers of family and friends, like a mini Olympics opening ceremony.

The kids have worked several weeks preparing for this day. Learning games and rules, practicing skills over and over, listening to and obeying coaches. As well as saying a set number of sections to be eligible to play.

At the Quiz, clubbers are grouped by which handbook they are studying, and asked ten questions on a paper test and ten questions given by a moderator. During the "Paddle Test," The moderator asks the clubbers a multiple-choice question by which they respond by raising paddle A, B, or C. In front of an audience and judges!

The quiz was held at East Evangelical Free. This friendly competition is a great way to encourage kids to study and memorize God's Word.

Our next competition is the Awana Games. It's in April and we'd love for you to come and support the team. We'll post more information soon!

Awana Pie Night highlights the Adopt-a-Club program

AdoptaClub2013.JPG

Last fall (2013), the Awana kids participated in the Adopt-A-Club program. This program is part of the Awana International ministry. Through our support, they are able to reach kids all over the world through Awana. They equip local Christian leaders to work with kids and disciple them in a relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ.

We are glad we can be a part of this international ministry. We are also proud of our Awana kids who brought money during the 6 week campaign.

The kids worked hard through chores and odd jobs, as well as getting some help from parents and grandparents (thanks, parents & grandparents!) The kids also earned Awana “bucks” for completing a section in the handbook and could exchange the bucks for Adopt-A-Club money. Calvary Baptist Church matched the funds that the kids gave for a grand total of $3,300!

A big shout-out goes to the kids, parents, grandparents, and the church for a successful Adopt-A-Club campaign!

On Pie Night, the total is added up, the check is presented, and pies are thrown!
