Hear ye, hear ye. Let it be known that everyone is invited to the church-wide Christmas Caroling & Soup Supper Extravaganza. It would be most pleasing to us if you could bring soup or chili and your choice of a dessert or chili toppings such as cheese, crackers, sour cream and the like. It is imperative that you bring forth enough food to feed your family plus a little more. Hot beverages and dinnerware will be graciously provided by the church.

Caroling will commence promptly at 6:00 pm. The church vans & bus will be available to transport you and your loved ones from the church to the abode of a shut-in or to a nursing home establishment wherefore the joyful singing of those most cherished carols shall ensue. As the night grows cold, the singing faint, the parties will return henceforth to the CBC gymnasium where all shall take part in the feast of soup and chili. ‘Tis the season for spending time with loved ones and making merry the hearts of others. We’ll have grand time together!

Thanksgiving Service & Pie Night

Pie Night homeslider.png

Join us for the Annual Thanksgiving Service & Pie Night. The service starts at 7:00 pm. We remember the past year and thank the Lord for the work He has done in our lives. God is good!

Following the service, enjoy a piece of pie as we gather in the gym for fellowship. Please bring enough pie for your family. And we have special opportunity to be a blessing to the men at the Union Rescue Mission, by bringing an extra pie to take to them.

The church will deliver the pies to the Rescue Mission. Just drop them off in the kitchen.
Please bring all the pies to the church between 6:15 & 6:45 pm.

Go ahead and cut the pies for the fellowship, but the Rescue Mission has requested that their pies not be cut.

We even have some pie tins for you to use. Pick some up outside the office

O give thanks unto the Lord, for He is good; for His mercy endureth forever. 1 Chronicles 16:34
Happy Thanksgiving!

7 ways you can be a part of the Fall Harvest Festival

Posted by Alan on October 17, 2014

Fall Harvest_homeslider.png

It’s almost here. No, not Christmas (although it will be here soon enough), Fall Harvest Festival 2014! We have a lot of fun planned, and you can help! We hope to serve the community and our church family through this event by providing a night of fun and festivities in a safe and exciting atmosphere.

7 ways you can help:

  1. Pray – this event needs God’s power to make it worth doing. All the preparation, building, designing, promoting, and participating doesn’t mean much if God is left out.

  2. Bring candy – kids come to Fall Harvest Festival anticipating candy, and lots of it! Providing candy presents another opportunity to connect with them. (Go ahead and place it in the barrel in the foyer marked "Fall Harvest Candy")

  3. Bring more candy – okay, you get the idea.

  4. Volunteer – the Fall Harvest Festival revolves around carnival style, hands-on games. Design, build, and operate a game booth that kids will enjoy. The Registration Team represents our 1st impression to those coming to the event. Smiling faces a requirement! The Snack Staff keeps the treats coming. Join this team to keep parents and kids filled up on something besides candy.

  5. Participate – come join in the fun on the evening of the Fall Harvest Festival. Meet new people, show the love of Christ, and have a great time. If you have kids – bring them too!

  6. Promote – tell your neighbors, mention it on Facebook, and hand out flyers (available by the church office).

  7. Bring food for the Food Drive – it’s for the Heaven’s Hands food pantry here in Derby.

Sign up on the list by the office if you want to run a game. Contact Pastor Bowman if you want to help on the Registration Team or Snack Staff. Please remember to pray. See you there!

CONNECT: Building Our World Vision

We invite you to connect with us at our annual Missionary Conference. That is why we need to connect.

We welcome the Lupers and the Schrags as this year's missionary families. Connect with them by being a part of the conference.
